Wooden crates provide structural support and protection for machinery, equipment, components, and products that cannot be safely shipped in standard packaging. The right crate depends on the item’s dimensions, weight, center of gravity, lifting points, handling equipment, destination, and storage environment. Crates can be built with hardwood or softwood framing, plywood or OSB panels, open slats, enclosed sides, or a combination of materials.
Every crate is built by hand around the product it must protect. This gives our team the flexibility to work from dimensions, drawings, photographs, samples, or equipment specifications. Construction can include skidded bases, removable panels, custom access points, reinforced framing, blocking, bracing, and foam protection.
Protection and Customization Options
Royal Wood Products offers closed wooden crates, open-slat and skeleton crates, equipment crates, knock-down and reusable crates, heat-treated export crates, and agricultural or bulk crates. Optional features include hinges, latches, ramps, shelves, labels, stenciling, branding, and heat-treated solid-wood components when required.
Standard configurations can support common shipping and storage needs, while custom crates can accommodate oversized, fragile, valuable, sensitive, or irregular equipment. The construction and interior protection are matched to the product, handling process, route, and level of protection required.
